How Dennis A. became a talent connector for Outlier

In Aarhus, Denmark's second-largest city, 28-year-old Dennis A. has mastered the art of the side hustle with a twist. While working full-time as a customer support and onboarding agent, Dennis has carved out a unique role for himself at Outlier — not just as a contributor, but as one of the platform's most prolific talent scouts.
"I started doing Outlier tasks part-time alongside my full-time job about half a year ago," Dennis explains. "It was great."
But his journey took an unexpected turn when one of his close friends, who also works at Outlier, reached out about a different opportunity.
"He believed I’d be a great fit for recruiting because I have a lot of experience in sales and marketing," Dennis says. The suggestion proved remarkably prescient. Today, Dennis proudly shares that he's "currently in first place regarding most referrals in this period," having connected over 150 potential contributors with the platform.
With a master's degree in human-centered informatics, Dennis brings an analytical approach to finding the right people.
"I've visualized how the process actually works when it comes to recruiting," he explains, having developed a systematic approach that helps him identify promising candidates.
Dennis believes that timing is everything in recruiting. "I figured out that weekends are great, especially Sundays," he says with a smile. "People realize Monday is coming and they need a job. So, it's a great thing to contact people during weekends when they actually have time."
Dennis frequently encounters skepticism.
"Most people believe it's too good to be true,” he laughs. To overcome this hurdle, Dennis has developed a straightforward approach. "It's not that hard to convince someone Outlier is legit," he explains. "First, I show them how payments are actually set up. Then, I invite them for a meeting with some of the quality assurance managers so they can ask all their questions."
Dennis’s work allows Outlier to expand its presence in Denmark and beyond, connecting people with opportunities that offer both flexibility and competitive compensation.
"Just work from home whenever you want," Dennis says, summarizing the appeal that continues to drive his referral success. For this Danish talent scout, helping others discover Outlier has become both a rewarding side gig and a perfect complement to his professional skill set.
