We are seeking Ophthalmology experts to create clinically rigorous prompts, evaluate model responses for medical accuracy, and ensure frontier AI adheres to the highest standards of scientific reasoning — all from a fully remote, flexible schedule.
Key Responsibilites
As an Opthalmology expert on Outlier, you will be creating the high-fidelity, ground-truth data used to validate clinical knowledge in complex medical domains.
Create image-dependent prompts that require real-world clinical judgment and synthesis.
Review and analyze model responses for clinical soundness, scientific rigor, and relevance.
Provide scientific rigor oversight to ensure that frontier models adhere to the highest standards of formal verification and accuracy.

Ideal Qualifications
Medical Degree: MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent from an accredited medical program and a residency, fellowship, or strong focus in Ophthalmology.
Clinical Experience: Hands-on experience in a healthcare setting; strong preference for practicing or recently practicing clinicians.
English Proficiency: Fluent in reading and writing, with minimal language errors.
Analytical Skill: Detail-oriented with the ability to evaluate medical content for accuracy and logical flow.

** Rates vary based on expertise, skills assessment, location, project need, and other factors. For example, higher rates may be offered to PhDs. For non-core work, such as during initial project onboarding or project overtime phases, lower rates apply. Additional incentives data is based on payments made in the past six months and is updated quarterly. Certain projects offer incentive payments. Please review the payment terms for each project.
