Outlier automatically alerts you to unexpected, important changes in your data in the form of a story.
Outlier automatically alerts you to unexpected, important changes in your data in the form of a story. An Outlier story, or insight, is a narrative of the change taking place in your data and provides contextual information for further data analysis and action.
Every day, Outlier uses artificial intelligence to generate hundreds or thousands of stories (depending on the amount of data). The stories are then scored and prioritized, so only the most important story’s show up in your feed. Our platform’s patented technology learns from the individual user’s story engagement to tailor the daily story feed to be relevant to each user and will thus differ between users.
You will be able to see many different types of stories to better understand the changes detected in your data. We offer over a dozen different story types. Here are a few examples of Outlier story types:
Spike / Drop
Identifies when a metric value jumps above or falls below the modeled or expected range.
Identifies when new correlations in the data form, break or resume, including correlations across multiple data sources.
Identifies a metric change that persists over a period of time, as opposed to a single spike or drop.
Identifies when a business attribute (i.e. facet) in your data has a new facet value, which previously did not exist.
Record High / Low
Identifies when values for a given dimension of your data are the highest or lowest for a given time period, whether or not they’re still within the model range.
Helps you make sense of the tens of thousands of different dimensions of your data by identifying changes across all dimensions that move in such a similar way that they seem to be correlated (either directly or inversely).
