In today’s stories, analyzed with automated business analysis, we are reporting more findings based upon data shared by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (JHU).
Here’s what we found recently:
Uptick in Cases
Ventura County in California is 100% higher than expected for the number of newly confirmed cases. Since November 5th, the Southern California county has seen an increase in the number of new cases.
In Northern California, Alameda County also sees an increase in the number of newly confirmed cases, and their recent figures are 44% higher than expected. Since December 2nd, the county has seen an increasing trend for positive cases.
Rutherford County in Tennessee is also trending up. Since December 7th, the county has seen an increase in the number of newly confirmed cases. Rutherford County is 35% higher than expected. Wilson and Bedford counties, which are directly North and South of Rutherford, are also seeing increases.
Seventeen other Tennessee counties are also seeing an uptick. Compared to last week, the state of Tennessee is 40% higher than expected, and compared to yesterday is 56% higher than expected. The state now accounts for 3% of the newly confirmed cases in the US.
Good News on the Horizon
In good news, Adams County in Colorado sees a decline in the number of newly confirmed cases. The county, East of Boulder and Denver, has been trending down since November 23rd.
More good news internationally as the UK is trending down in regards to new case counts. Since November 23rd, the amount of new deaths associated with the Coronavirus has declined by 38%. The country only accounts for 2% of the deaths globally.
Back Up in Africa
Namibia is seeing an increase in the number of new cases and is 61% higher than expected.
More from the African continent, South Africa sees the number of cases climbing and has created a new normal for the country.
