South Africa has created a new normal for the amount of newly confirmed Coronavirus cases. The country’s new normal is 54% higher than previous figures.
Trending Up in Countries
When comparing week over week results, the US is still seeing an increase week over week in the number of newly confirmed cases. The current numbers are 30% higher than expected and the US accounts for 32% of the number of newly confirmed cases worldwide.
Japan is also seeing strong growth in the number of newly confirmed cases. Their current weekly counts are 15% higher than expected.
Iran is also seeing an increase in the number of newly confirmed cases as well. When compared to week over week growth, the cases are 13% higher than expected.
Newly Confirmed Cases Trending in States and Counties
The state of Virginia sees a strong increase in the number of newly confirmed Coronavirus cases and is 25% higher than expected. The state now accounts for 2% of the confirmed cases in the US yesterday.
Three counties in Southern California are big movers with the number of newly confirmed cases. This story shows Ventura County, where the cases are 111% higher than expected. Riverside, 135% higher than expected, and Los Angeles, 65% higher than expected.
North Carolina is also seeing an increase in the number of newly confirmed cases. The state includes 4% of the Coronavirus cases confirmed yesterday and is 25% higher than expected.
Numbers Down in France and Poland
In good news, France is seeing a decline in the number of newly confirmed cases. The country is 55% below expected.
Poland is seeing a trending decrease in the number of newly confirmed cases. Their latest decline is 19% below expected and the country only accounts for 2% of the new cases confirmed worldwide.
