In today’s stories, analyzed with automated business analysis, we are reporting more findings based upon data shared by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (JHU).
Here’s what we found out recently:
Counties Across the Country are Spiking
Vegas, Baby! Clark County in Nevada is seeing a spike in the number of cases. A few weeks ago the county started advertising to get tourists back. Since June 9th, the count has been trending up and is currently 57% over expected. This is the largest number of cases ever confirmed for Clark County in a single day.
The biggest mover was Brazoria County who changed rank from 259th to 3rd place. Fairfax County in Virginia is seeing a decrease in their case count and their rank decreased from 50 to 354.
Many counties in the US are moving up and down in regards to their count of newly confirmed cases. Based on this Rank story, we see that these seven counties are increasing in their number of newly confirmed cases, including Brazoria, Texas; Pima, Arizona; Hays, Texas; Anne Arundel, Maryland; Collin, Texas; Santa Cruz, Arizona and Navajo, Arizona.
Texas has been on an upward trend in newly confirmed cases since May 30th. The state accounts for 14% of the newly confirmed cases and yesterday they came in 52% higher than expected. Hospitalizations in Texas are surging.
Not surprisingly, we see the three counties from the previous story contributing the most to this Root Cause Analysis. It’s interesting to see Tarrant county in this analysis too. This county has had a more consistent increase in their case count.
Arizona hit a milestone for the number of cases confirmed yesterday at 2,341. The state now accounts for 10% of the confirmed cases and is 141% over expected. Officials are unsure if the new cases are due to expanded testing.
Maripocial and Pima county are contributing the most to this increase in case count.
Minnesota is on the Decline
Great news for Minnesota! Their current death count from Coronavirus is trending down. This trend started on May 11th and the State with 10,000 lakes is currently 15% below expected. The decline in new cases continues too.
Cases in Latin America are Climbing and Declining
Internationally, we see increases and declines. While Nicaragua is increasing in the number of cases, just south in Columbia the country is decreasing.
