“There is a season (turn, turn, turn)” – The Byrds
To everything, there is a turn, especially when it comes to accounting for data analysis from season to season. While Outlier’s Automated Business Analysis platform already models for seasonality, we’re excited to announce that now our users can additionally see information on values for the previous year too.
As shown in the story above, Outlier delivers the ability to immediately jump directly to a given time period and quickly analyze the history without leaving the story. Imagine how a retailer could benefit from being reminded of a significant shift in sales from one campaign to the next. Marketing and product teams could see the revenue increase year-over-year for a specific set of dates when immediately clicking within the Outlier story to identify the Root Cause Analysis. An identified driver may even lead the retailer’s marketing team to pinpoint a specific promotion, such as an affiliate or influencer offer. Without Outlier, the team would have spent hours digging through historical data to identify which programs were contributing to the revenue increase.
Another update that we’ve made is our new mobile design for Followed Metrics. Many of our customers view their Outlier stories on their mobile phones. Outlier now helps them quickly follow the metrics that matter most. From any Outlier story, you can Follow in the upper right-hand actions menu to see an update of the Metric each day, even if it is within the expected range. Based on this update, those followed metrics can be viewed (and removed) in a single tab as seen below:
Outlier identifies unexpected changes across business data so that marketing, data scientists and analysts can make more informed decisions quickly. As an Automated Business Analysis platform, Outlier discovers hidden patterns and relationships that are impossible to find manually without AI algorithms.
